چکیده

The Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama (Hemiptera: Psyllidae), is one of the most economically destructive pests of citrus worldwide. D. citri vector the phloem-inhabiting bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, which is the presumed causal agent of huanglongbing (HLB) disease in citrus in North America. HLB, otherwise known as citrus greening disease, is the greatest biotic threat to citrus production worldwide (McClean and Schwarz 1970; Halbert and Manjunath 2004; Bové 2006). HLB affects plant phloem, causing yellow shoots, mottling, chlorosis, and twig die back that result in rapid tree decline and may ultimately cause tree death.
